All roles across the Trust carry a responsibility for safeguarding practice. Some positions involve significant responsibility and daily work with children in regulated activity; however, regardless of the level of involvement, all staff and volunteers are expected to uphold the highest standards of safeguarding.
Appointment to any position is subject to a rigorous pre-employment and induction process. This includes an enhanced DBS disclosure (with checks against the appropriate barred list where applicable), references from current and previous employers, health clearance, right to work in the UK, child disqualification checks, prohibition from teaching or management (where relevant), and online and social media checks. Applicants must also declare any unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands or warnings in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
